GOOD SPORT: Gavin Morgan’s successful firm constructs and maintains sports pitches
LATEST SALES PITCH IS A WINNER
The year 2010 was huge for Gavin Morgan – his first child was born and he finally set up his own company. 30 year old Gavin from Ballyboughal, Co Dublin, worked as a sales rep for Snap Printing before being laid off in 2008. After 2 years on the dole, he decided to take matters into his own hands by setting up Morgan Sports Solutions, putting to good use his seven years of experience working on GAA, rugby, soccer and hockey pitches.
He told The Star: “I took a big risk in setting up a business in a recession but in my opinion you have to take certain risks to be successful and it has turned out to be one of the best decisions i’ve ever made.
“We are essentially a sports pitch construction and maintenance company – our services include the installation and maintenance of football, tennis, cricket and hockey artificial surfaces.”
Last year Gavin branched out by offering rugby and GAA pitch maintenance courses and despite the economic situation, he is confident 2012 will be a good year.
He said “We have just moved into our new office in Glasnevin as we will be recruiting in the new year. My business has gone from strength to strength and i know 2012 will be even more successful.”
