1. What is Nearlygrass?

Nearlygrass is an artificial/synthetic/astroturf grass manufactured in the UK. It is a strong resilient surface that has all the best qualities of a lawn, without the heavy maintenance required.

2. Why would i need it?

For many different reasons residential and commercial customers decide on Nearlygrass as their preferred option. Your garden or outdoor facility may be too wet with drainage being a problem, your dog may be destroying your garden, even when it stops raining your children cannot go outside as it’s too soggy and will destroy their clothes.

3. How long does it take to install?

It depends on the size of the area required, our sales team will confirm how long it will take once we know the size of the area.

4. How is the Nearlygrass laid?

Nearlygrass may be laid on a number of surfaces, but problems such as poor drainage cannot be overcome by simply covering them with artificial grass. Most hard surfaces are suitable as a base for artificial grass. If a new sub-surface is being created, a slight fall (1:200 is ideal). However paving slabs are not suitable as a base and should be removed or covered with sand. Unbound surfaces, such as stone is ideal for artificial grass and were the project being built from scratch, we would recommend this as a base. Any unbound surface is suitable, however if the surface is rough, we would recommend that it be screeded with sand prior to laying. Natural surfaces such as existing lawn are satisfactory for laying artificial grass, if well drained. However these are not always a good idea in the long term as natural grass will die and root decay could cause an uneven surface. Therefore the removal of grass is our recommended option, especially if the soil is then covered with a layer of compacter grit sand.

5. How much artificial grass do i need?

Nearlygrass comes in 2 metre or 4 metre wide roll and can be supplied in lengths to suit you. It is important to measure accurately to work out the precise length and width needed. For simple shapes it is usually fairly simple to work out your requirements, but for more complex areas and shapes, it may be useful to work out your requirements on squared graph paper.

6. Do i have to maintain the Nearlygrass?

Nearlygrass is low maintanance – however it isn’t no maintenance. Simply remove debris – particularly leaves and pet droppings – in order to avoid moss growth. This can be removed by sweeping or, in dry conditions, vacuuming is possible (however not on sand filled grass). If moss does form, it should be treated with a proprietary moss killer and swept thoroughly with a stiff brush. Odd weeds may seed themselves in the surface and these can be removed by hand or with a spot spray of general weedkiller.

7. Do you offer a supply and installation service?

8. Can this be laid onto existing rubber lok or rubber tiles?

Depending on the condition of the rubber lok or rubber tiles we can install Nearlygrass on top of it. The rubber lok or rubber tiles will act as a shockpad underneath. Our sales team will be able to confirm whether it can be used or not.

9. Can it be laid onto concrete?

Yes it can. We would also recommend one of our shockpads for underneath the Nearlygrass.

10. What is the cost?

Nearlygrass starts at only €19.50 per square metre.
